“Everyone can and should repair with their own hands;
Repair does not have to be perfect, functional, or even done;
Repair is a social ritual and a cultural awareness that connects us with our past, that we otherwise abandon too easily.”

Pittsburgh Repair Festival engages the city in the repair and reuse of waste through co-building an artifact.
Connecting a number of makerspaces, repair shops, and waste collecting spots, the Repair Truck moves through the city throughout the day, with community members hopping on and off, each adding their unique part to the sculpture/figurine/cyborg/...

The Repair Truck, made from the case of an abandoned record player, holds waste materials and the "figurine"- the artifact co-built by people in Pittsburgh, from waste materials they contribute.
The background audio is a stitched recording of members of the sites sharing their repair and reuse practice.
(Audioplayer programmed in Arduino: an ultrasonic sensor, a DFPlayerMini, and an amplifier.)
